NTSE (National Talent Search Examination)

What is NTSE?

State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) of all States and Union territories will conduct the stage 1 of NTSE at the state level while NCERT will conduct the stage 2 at the national level. Only candidates who qualify NTSE 2023 stage 1 will be eligible to appear for stage 2.

The NTSE 2023 stage 1 will be held for Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya and Andaman & Nicobar islands on November 3 while for all other states and UTs (except West Bengal), it will be conducted on November 4, 2022. This year, NTSE 2023 West Bengal will take place separately on November 18, 2022.

What's New in NTSE 2023?

This year, NCERT has introduced a few changes in the exam as mentioned below:

No Language Paper - Till last year, NTSE included a language paper, the marks of which were not really counted while calculating the total score. From this year, the language paper has been abolished.

New Reservation - NTSE 2023 has added an extra reservation of 27% for OBC (Non-creamy Layer) apart from the existing 15%, 7.5% and 4% for SC, ST and Physically Handicapped. The income limit currently is 8 Lakh per annum for OBC NCL.

The duration of the exam has been increased to 4 hours from 3 hours till last year. Duration for MAT and SAT is 2 hours each.

एनटीएसई क्या है?

सभी राज्यों और केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों की स्टेट काउंसिल ऑफ एजुकेशनल रिसर्च एंड ट्रेनिंग (SCERT) राज्य स्तर पर NTSE के चरण 1 का संचालन करेगी जबकि NCERT राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर चरण 2 का संचालन करेगी। केवल एनटीएसई 2023 चरण 1 में अर्हता प्राप्त करने वाले उम्मीदवार ही चरण 2 के लिए उपस्थित होने के पात्र होंगे।

NTSE 2023 चरण 1 नागालैंड, मिजोरम, मेघालय और अंडमान और निकोबार द्वीप समूह के लिए 3 नवंबर को आयोजित किया जाएगा, जबकि अन्य सभी राज्यों और केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों (पश्चिम बंगाल को छोड़कर) के लिए यह 4 नवंबर, 2022 को आयोजित किया जाएगा। इस साल, NTSE 2023 पश्चिम बंगाल 18 नवंबर, 2022 को अलग से होगा।

एनटीएसई 2023 में नया क्या है?

इस वर्ष, एनसीईआरटी ने परीक्षा में कुछ बदलाव किए हैं जिनका उल्लेख नीचे किया गया है:

नो लैंग्वेज पेपर - पिछले साल तक, एनटीएसई में एक लैंग्वेज पेपर शामिल था, जिसके अंकों को कुल स्कोर की गणना करते समय वास्तव में नहीं गिना जाता था। इस वर्ष से भाषा का पेपर समाप्त कर दिया गया है।

परीक्षा की अवधि पिछले साल के 3 घंटे से बढ़ाकर 4 घंटे कर दी गई है। MAT और SAT की अवधि 2-2 घंटे है।

How to Apply for NTSE 2022-23 ?

Students in class 10 during the 2022-23 session can apply for NTSE 2022 Stage-1 exam in the month of July-December through their respective State/ UT NTSE application process.

Here are the steps to apply for NTSE exam.

Go to your State/ UT education board website.Read the NTSE notification/ instructions carefully before applying for the NTSE exam.Check if you can apply for NTSE online or you need to download the application form.If an online application is available : Fill the form, attach required documents and submit the form.If an online application is not available : Download the form, take a print out, fill the form and send it to the address mentioned.

NTSE 2022-23 Application Form

The application form for NTSE 2022-23 stage-I exam can be obtained from your State/ UT education website or Liaison officer. The completed application form after signed by the Principal of the school will be submitted to the address mentioned in the application form instructions. Last date for submitting the NTSE application form will be notified by your State/ UT only.

NTSE Examination Fee: The exam fee for NTSE Stage-I exam will be notified by your State/ UT. For NTSE Stage-II examination, no fee is charged by NCERT.

Note : Students (in India, not abroad) don’t need to fill out any form for NTSE Stage-II examination.

NTSE Application Form for Indian Students Abroad [NRIs]

Indian students studying abroad in grade 10 can appear directly for NTSE Stage-II examination under conditions mentioned in the NTSE brochure. Application Form for Indian students studying abroad will be available on NCERT website in the month of November-December.
